A gentle shift into summer.

May.

I always had mixed feelings about this month. In some ways I am happy with the end of a busy school season nearing, but I also feel sad that the regular, comfortable schedule of days will soon be switched out to another type of busy life for a few short months. 

As a Mom, I find safety in the comfort of the predictability of a school week schedule. With May, everything transitions to rushed summer camp drop offs and pickups, roadtrips and long days outside and by the pool. This means, as Moms and parents we have to somehow juggle just a bit more.

Which brings us to one of the most special holidays each year: Mother’s Day! As a Mom myself to three kiddos, I applaud all moms, grandmothers, stepmoms and mother figures for wearing your crowns proudly while juggling a million tasks and responsibilities. 

May also brings changes to both of our shops: we were sad to say goodbye to some of our baristas as they embark on new chapters in their lives. But with change comes the welcome addition of new friendly faces to our team: Desten, Marin, Yuval and Saori. And at Hytte we are welcoming a lovely new addition with Jenifer. I hope you will stop in and say hello to them. 

While we are entering a season of yet another change, I do hope you all find comfort in the steadiness of the love and care we extend to you as our guests when you visit our shops.
