A sweeter staycation.

Savoring stillness.

In much of Europe, summer is the season of leisure—a time less of adventure than of finally learning to relax. The Italians, among others, have so thoroughly adopted this mentality that there’s a national slogan for slowness: la dolce far niente (“the art of doing nothing”). As a chef, a busy mom and a business owner, that’s one mantra I’d love to adopt for a while!

After many years of living in America (and especially Colorado), I’ve learned that the U.S. take on vacation tends to be a bit more active. And while a tightly scheduled whirlwind of adventure can certainly be exciting, the hustle, bustle and logistics of travel can just as often leave me longing for home.

Of course, if spending time away makes us more grateful for our regular routines, perhaps we should consider that a great success. So as we head into peak vacation season, we invite those of you staying local to enjoy a savvy staycation on our patio—or to join us for a warm welcome upon your return home.

July Happenings at Süti & Co.

Live Music

On July 19th, we’re excited to feature a Süti & Co. favorite—Lucas Wolf—for a singer-songwriter session on our patio. Then, on August 2nd, we’ll be channeling slow morning vibes with local jazz pianist Hanna Aparo. Visit our website for the full concert calendar!

Supper Club | Saturday, July 19th

Join us for a 4-5 course prix fixe meal on our patio, featuring the freshest produce of the season. This particular dinner will be gluten-free and also includes mocktail pairings and dessert. If you’ve yet to join us for one of these intimate dinners, it’s a lovely opportunity to meet like-minded neighbors from the Boulder community—and to learn a bit about the childhood and professional memories that drive Andrea’s creativity in the kitchen.

Luxury Linens

New on our shelves this summer: look out for hand-dyed, prewashed linen towels, napkins and runners from a small family-run business in Texas. We initially met these fellow European expats when they visited the cottage, and we have learned so much from their attentive, process-driven production of high-quality, better-with-use textiles.

Hypoallergenic Candles

While we love the warm ambiance of a flame, we also know that some of our community members are sensitive to the ingredients used in candle-making. One of our newest makers specializes in hypoallergenic production—inspired by her golden retriever’s reactions to mainstream candles. These small-batch products are made in the U.S. and we’re excited to showcase her allergy-friendly scents!
